What is the difference between porcelain dental veneers and a porcelain bridge?

Porcelain veneers are applied to a single tooth. A porcelain bridge is the process of reducing the size of adjacent teeth in order to turn them into bridge abutments to correct at least one tooth deficiency. Thus the missing teeth are replaced.

What are porcelain dental veneers with metal base?

Porcelain is a sensitive material. So they need a strong base material. Although metal-supported porcelain dental veneers made of metal alloy are still the most commonly used treatment, they may eventually produce a gray glare in the gingiva. In such cases, treatment of zirconium dental veneers in aesthetically important areas is recommended.

What are porcelain dental veneers with zirconium base?

As an alternative to metal-supported porcelain veneers, there is the zirconium-based porcelain veneer, which provides high esthetic results. How many sessions are needed for porcelain veneers?

The procedure is completed in 2-3 sessions. During the first session, the dentist cuts and takes measurements. In the second session, specially fabricated porcelain veneers or bridges are tried on the patient. Depending on the patient’s liking, the veneer is then cemented and adhered in the mouth. During the laboratory phase, the patient must not be left without teeth. Temporary teeth are fitted during the first session with measurements taken. The patient is then sent home with the temporary teeth. The teeth are cut with the cad-cam system, and after 2-3 hours the permanent porcelain teeth are finished and the veneers are applied on the same day.
