All-on-8 Dental Implants
The All-on-8 dental implant system consists of placing 8 dental implants per dental arch, serving as “anchors” for a fixed, non-removable dental bridge. This system is recommended in cases where the patient has lost more than 80% of their natural teeth. These dental implants will support a fixed dental bridge (permanently cemented onto the implants) consisting of 12 to 14 units (teeth).
How does it work?
Before receiving All-on-8, the patient must have enough bone to support the implants. If there is not enough bone, a bone graft is necessary. An All-on-8 requires more bone and more bone strength than an All-on-4.
In the first phase of All-on-8, the dental implants are inserted into the jawbone. A temporary prosthesis can be attached immediately. Finally, once the implants have healed, the overdenture can be applied.

How long does it take to set up All-on-8
The All-on-8 procedure takes between 2 and 4 hours. In the first 3 months following the procedure, the mouth will heal and the bone and gums will change shape to adapt to the new device. During this period, patients should be careful about eating hard or very chewy foods. Patients should expect significant discomfort and swelling after the procedure. Pain usually subsides after a week of healing.
Who is a candidate for All-on-8?
Implant treatment is recommended for patients with a full arch of missing teeth or those who are planning to remove their remaining teeth and replace them with implants. It offers a stable, long-term alternative to traditional dentures. If you are diabetic or use tobacco, you may not be an ideal candidate for this procedure.
